Workshops and Training

• KAREN workshop The committee will organize a one day workshop for the Service Provider’s staff to identify business and research opportunities enabled by KAREN, including remote calibration and monitoring. July 2008
• Distributed computing workshop The committee will organize a workshop to investigate the opportunities to exploit distributed computing resources and to develop our capability in this area. July 2008
• Development of an eResearch roadmap The investment plan manager will develop a roadmap for eResearch in consultation with the senior management team, and informed by the KAREN workshop and the distributed computing workshop. December 2008
• Training for ITS staff in videoconferencing support ITS staff will receive training in supporting Access Grid and desktop videoconferencing. July 2008
• Videoconferencing training days for science, management and general support staff. The committee will organize a series of workshops for the Service Provider’s staff to familiarize them with new videoconferencing tools such as EVO. August 2008 – June 2009
