  • Appointment of an eResearch Coordinator Advertise, interview and appoint a candidate into the role of eResearch Coordinator (The Job Profile for this position is attached) June 2008
  • Establishment of an eResearch coordination group This group will be reflective of eResearch interests and support structures from across the Service Provider and will be charged with overseeing the role of the eResearch coordinator and developing a eResearch strategy. July 2008
  • The Service Provider’s eResearch Strategy is published Develop a strategy for eResearch promotion across all campuses and departments of the Service Provider. July 2008
  • Undertake an audit of technology requirements for KAREN at the Service Provider Identify the technology requirements of new eResearch initiatives and liaise across the Service Provider to discover what awareness, access and skills are required to utilise appropriate services and technologies. July 2008
  • A programme of events to promote the KAREN network across the Service Provider Encourage the use of the KAREN network; promote the collaboration and sharing of equipment, services and resources. Provide bulletins and newsletters of new developments. Facilitate workshops and demonstrations to highlight potential initiatives. August 2008
  • Establish an eResearch help desk function Provide facilitation services to appropriate eResearch coordination bodies such as an eResearch advisory committee.September 2008
  • Commence a training programme for KAREN network users Encourage and develop appropriate knowledge transfer activities including training, arranging seminars and other appropriate techniques. December 2008
  • A collaborative research grant application is submitted to an external funding organization to gain funding for the KAREN network *Provide support and advice for the development of research funding initiatives for the KAREN network January 2009
  • Report the progress to-date that eResearch coordinator has made to capability building for the KAREN network Review the 12-month programme for increased awareness, training, and facilitation of use, technical support and assistance. May 2009
  • Roll over of the employment of the eResearch Coordinator The success of the eResearch Coordinator is recognised and the valuable contribution he/she has made to eResearch at the Service Provider. July 2009
