Service description

myKAREN will allow people who belong to KAREN member organisations to access New Zealand content and services available on KAREN from their home. Content and services accessed over KAREN will not count towards home internet charges.

Objectives of trial

• Help the trial participants get greater value from KAREN through improved access

• Provide a service which offers un-metered access to content and services available over KAREN

• Develop a scaleable and repeatable service at a low-cost per user

• Evaluate the feasibility of an extended trial / ongoing service


Key success factors

• Technical solution delivers un-metered access to KAREN routes to users over existing ISP connections

• Trial proves a scaleable solution can be commercially viable

• Trial receives positive member feedback

Timescales

The trial will run during March and April 2009.
