About

The Wellington Loop is a learning community of (initially) six secondary schools connected by high speed fibre optic cable supplied by CityLink Ltd.

The Loop will provide network, systems, and application IT services to form an exciting set of professionally managed and supported digital resources and services that would otherwise be too costly for individual schools to provide.

The initial rollout to the six secondary schools is planned to expand to encompass most secondary and primary schools in the greater Wellington area in line with the WCC broadband vision.

The Wellington Loop will be taking part in the National Education Network trial.

What will be available on the Wellington Loop?

• High speed, uncapped Internet Access.

• KAREN, to access advanced education networks worldwide.

• Video resources, stored and real-time.

• Learning Management system.

• Enterprise Web Content management.

• Real Time Video services.

• Web 2.0 platform.
